MyTown Covid-19 Response

Following the March 13 announcement that Metro Manila will be quarantined, the March 15 notification of imposition of curfew hours, further ‘enhanced community quarantine’ (ECQ) as of March 17, and the subsequent extensions until May 30, MyTown is taking additional precautionary measures beyond earlier measures taken since January, effective immediately.

The General Community Quarantine, starting June 1, enabled us to loosen certain restrictions, but movement is still restricted and tenants are to comply to 'new normal' guidelines.

On August 2, the government decided to return to a modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) again until August 18, which has resulted in some additional restrictions in movemenet and closures of certain amenities. Since then, a gradual loosening of quarantine restrictions have taken place. These are explained further below.

We are committed to making the impact to you resulting from these additional measures as limited as possible. Nevertheless, our primary goal is your health and safety during your stay at MyTown, and we, therefore, seek your support and understanding while we continue to serve you.

We have compiled the following resources to keep you updated on any developments, and guide you through the quarantine:

5. BASIC PROTECTION AGAINST CORONAVIRUS

There are some simple measures you can adopt to reduce the risk of getting coronavirus. Most people who become infected experience mild illness and recover, but it can be more severe for others. Take care of your health and protect others by making the following a habit, as recommended by the WHO:

5.1 Wash your hands frequently Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water.
Why? Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands
How? Click here for a demonstration video of proper hand washing technique.

5.2 Maintain social distancing Maintain at least 1 meter (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
Why? When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.

5.3 Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth Why? Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick.

5.4 Practice respiratory hygiene Make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately.
Why? Droplets spread virus. By following good respiratory hygiene you protect the people around you from viruses such as cold, flu and COVID-19.

5.5 If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention and call in advance. Follow the directions of your local health authority.
Why? This will protect you and help prevent spread of viruses and other infections.
